    Description: 
    A figure group composed of the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow standing behind the figures of Evangeline and Gabriel. Longfellow is bearded and wears a tie and suitcoat. The figure of Gabriel kneels on his proper right knee in front of Longfellow's proper left side. Longfellow places his proper left hand upon Gabriel's proper left shoulder. The figure of Evangeline, wearing a long dress, sits at Longfellow's proper right side. The entire figure group is placed in front of a stylized old oak tree trunk.
