A gravemarker and memorial to John Calvin Yancey, 1858-1907, that includes three sawed logs, with the long one supported by two short ones placed underneath at right angles at either end. A plaque is carved at the west end of the long log, with its top decorated with a carving maul and carving blade. There are four areas where the bark is "peeled," or carved, from the long log. The sculpture rests upon a foundation that is a crypt cover.
