    Remarks: 
    Commissioned by the City of Boston, the tablet commemorates John Endecott (Endicott), who was active during the founding of the colony. He was a leading magistrate, military leader, and elected governor. While Governor from 1655-1665 he resided in a house on this site. Before John Endecott, this was the home that Elihu Yale was born, Aprl 5, 1648. Elihu founded Yale College.
