Description:
A uniformed World War I infantry soldier stands at parade rest, holding the barrel of his rifle with both hands at waist-level, the butt of which rests on the platform, by his proper right foot. He is wearing a wide-brimmed hat, laced boots, leggings, and a thigh-length jacket with ammunition belt. A satchel is strapped across his proper right shoulder and chest, resting at his proper left hip. A stump-like object is located behind his proper right leg. The sculpture is mounted atop a base, composed of three different colors and textures of grey granite, with three lower tiers supporting a rectangular column with an ornate architectural entablature and a decorative top ledge. The letter "W" appears within the entablature.
