Description:  The bronze memorial features a firefighter's hat resting atop of a pair of boots with a firefighter's jacket hanging above from a hook on a vertical beam. The lower edge of the firefighter's jacket bears the name WATROBA in honor of firefighter Walter Watroba of Engine Company 13 who lost his life fighting a Chicago fire on Nov. 22, 1976. The memorial includes a bronze American flag displayed on two vertical supports atop a separate base adjacent to the firefighter's uniform.
