Remarks:
Erected by Pierce St. John in memory of all who served in World War I, including Robert Warrior, Jacob Jump and Ralph Malone (Osage Indians who are buried at the cemetery). Jacob Jump was the stepson of Pierce St. John. Local folklore attributes the sculpture to a student of Rodin. The sculpture was originally located further west, closer to the St. John home, and was moved at an unknown date. IAS files include the text of a nearby commemorative plaque and a related article from the Daily Journal-Capital (Pawhuska, OK), May 31, 1927.
