    Description: 
    A young Native-American male leaning forward, holding his dog with his proper right hand and a bow and arrow in his proper left hand. His proper left leg is forward and his face is looking out ahead. The sculpture is installed atop a granite boulder.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture, a cast of John Quincy Adams Ward's first work, was erected by Mrs. Rachel Ward for the artist's grave in his native Urbana. This piece was reportedly cast from a plaster owned by the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, DC. IAS files contain newspaper articles from the Springfield Daily News (Springfield, OH), June 30, 1914, pg. 1.
