Description:
Abstract fountain sculpture comprised of triangle shapes contains three imploded fetal figures. A child attempts to climb a portion of the base towards two adults. They appear to be floating above the base. The adults are placed above a retaining pool.

Remarks:
Commissioned to commemorate the 1980 consolidation of Abbott Hospital, Northwestern Hospital and the Sister Kenny Institute. Funds were provided by the Abbott Auxiliary, now the Abbott-Northwestern-Sister Kenny Auxiliary. The sculpture also honors the hostipals' founders, Harriet Walker, Amos Abbott and Sister Elizabeth Kenny. IAS files include the text of the commemorative plaque, a press release from the hospital and an excerpt from the book "Paul T. Granlund."
