Formerly located Portsmouth Square, San Francisco, California through 1970's.
    Remarks:
The sculpture commemorates Robert Louise Sullivan (1850-1894). Born in Edinburgh, Stevenson came west for his health and frequented the San Francisco park where the memorial is located. Sculpture was removed while underground garage construction was done sometime around 1993-1994. When replaced, the galleon was originally mounted backwards. SOS! photo may show galleon backwards.
