    Description: 
    Drinking fountain for people and animals is a rough-hewn shaft. A basin with a spout protrudes from the north side. The animal trough is on the bottom with small protruding basins on each side.

    Remarks: 
    Erected in 1914 by the Deborah Avery Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R) in memory of Mary M. A. Stevens who first organized the D.A.R in Nebraska. It was originally installed in Antelope Park near 27th & A Streets. It was cleaned and its spout repaired ca. 1966. The fountain was removed ca. 1978, and rediscovered in a city storage facility ca. 1983. The Deborah Avery Chapter raised $500 towards the fountain's restoration and reinstallation. IAS files include related articles from the Lincoln Journal-Star, Sept. 1, 1968 and Sept. 16, 1984.
