Shelton Mausoleum, (sculpture). Artist:  Unknown, sculptor. Title:  Shelton Mausoleum, (sculpture). Dates:  1891. Medium:  Figure: stone; Mausoleum: mostly rough-hewn granite. Dimensions:  Figure: approx. 4 x 2 x 2 ft.; Mausoleum: approx. 15 x 17 x 25 ft. Inscription:  (On front pediment of mausoleum, raised:) SHELTON unsigned Description:  A female in classical robes stands atop the pediment of the Shelton Mausoleum. Her proper right hand is outstretched upwards and her proper left hand is by her side holding an anchor which rests by her foot. The mausoleum contains an ornate gate within a curved entranceway with short flanking columns. There is a pediment above the entranceway with an inscription. The front of the mausoleum is flanked by two semicircular benches with tall backs. The mausoleum is bordered by a plotmarker with the letters "18" and "91" on stones on either side of the front entrance.
