    Remarks: 
    The sculpture honors John Purdy Reynolds, M. D., and marks his grave. Reynolds was Senior Medical Officer at the Alamo Mission, where he died defending the Alamo on May 6, 1836. He was one of only three Pennsylvanians who fought at the Alamo. The sculpture was dedicated on March 6, 1959 at a ceremony marking the 123rd anniversary of the taking of the Alamo.
