Description:
A monument with a massive, square, stone block with a two-stepped lower section is topped by a cornice, under which is a molding of dentil-like forms and rosettes. On the top of the block is "Remembrance," a marble sculpture of a standing nude boy writing on a tablet as he leans on a draped urn. On the front of the block is "Mother and Infants," a marble bas-relief, in profile, embedded in a pentagonally-shaped area. On the lower left side is a female with shoulder-length hair, a long dress and wings, ascending towards two nude infants, or perhaps two little angels, that float above her on the upper right side of the relief.

Remarks:
The monument marks the graves of Lucia Marvin Olcott, wife of Thomas Olcott, and her two infant sons, John Marvin and Charles Marvin. Monument also marks the grave of Emma S. M. Olcott, who died in 1865. The "Remembrance" sculpture was created in 1851, and it is likely that the "Mother and Infants" relief was created at the same time. The monument was in place by 1857. The relief represents the ascension of the mother, who is met in the air by two little angels, her children who died before her.
