    Description: 
    Figurative sculpture of a blindfolded man chiseling himself out of a stone. The figure is nude and can be seen from the legs up. His upraised proper right hand holds the hammer with which he is about to strike a blow. The base is octagonal.

    Remarks: 
    Gift of the Opus Corporation and anonymous donors in honor of Monsignor Terrence J. Murphy, a University Chancellor. The sculpture was originally located in front of the Fifth Street Towers building in Minneapolis on a revolving platform, pending installation at its present permanent location. IAS files include a news release from the University and a related article from Skyway News (Minnesota) July 16, 1991.
