    Sculpture was commissioned in conjunction with the Michelson-Morley Centennial Celebration held in Cleveland in 1987 to commemorate scientific experiments conducted by Edward Williams Morely and Albert A. Michelson. The sculpture was made possible with the help of the George Gund Foundation, the Place Fund, Sarah & Edwin M. Roth and two anonymous donors.
