The northeast niche depicts William of Wykeham, Bishop of Winchester. The northwest niche depicts God the Father seated in a scene of the Holy Trinity -- his hands grasp a cross on which hangs his Son. The southwest niche depicts St. George and the Dragon. The top of the Gothic niches is adorned with elaborate pinnacles under a cross finial. Below the pillar platform, protruding from the corners at 45-degree angles are four faces, three female, one male (possibly from the Medieval period).

Christ Church Episcopal, 84 Broadway, Southeast yard, New Haven, Connecticut 06511
    Remarks:
This cross was designed by the architect of Christ Church Episcopal, Henry Vaughan. IAS files contain a copy of a letter from Reverend Jerald G. Miner, Rector of Christ Church Episcopal, giving information about Reverend Morgan and the monument. Morgan was the church's fourth rector and the location of the monument is fitting because of its proximity to the scene of the motor car accident resulting in Morgan's death.
