EMILE OVERTON MOORE/BORN OCT. 2 1854/MURDERED FEB. 16, 1893/HE IS NOW BEYOND THE/REACH OF BLAME OR PRAISE AND LOVE/WITH HOPE AND FAITH WILL TRUST THAT HE HAS FELT THE/JOY THAT IS FELT WHEN THERE ARE NO TEARS AND NO GRAVE (On west side of base:) DR. EMILE VERNON MOORE/BORN OCT. 2, 1854/MURDERED FEB. 16, 1896/HE POSSESSED MARKED INDIVIDUALITY, HE WAS/INCAPABLE OF DISSIMULATION.     Sculpture marks the grave or graves of Dr. Emile Overton and/or Dr. Emile Vernon Moore. The sculpture may have been raised as granite seems to have been placed at a later date.
