    Description: 
    The figures of a rearing horse and a man struggling to subdue the horse are elevated on a huge octagonal pedestal flanked at four corners by life-size figures representing science, art, learning and industry. Access to the base of the statuary group is afforded by four limestone steps also on the octagonal plan.
