Object Type:  Outdoor Sculpture -- Iowa -- Sioux City Sculpture Owner:  Administered by City of Sioux City, Office of the City Clerk, 520 Pierce, Sioux City, Iowa 51101 Located Mall between Nebraska & Jackson Streets, Sioux City, Iowa Remarks:  Funded with a National Endowment for the Arts, Art in Public Places grant of $25,000 given in 1976 to the City of Sioux City. Gift of the Iowa Beef Processors in memory of their co-founder, Currier J. Holman. The cost was $55,000. The sculpture was fabricated in Houston and assembled on site. It was temporarily located between Jackson and Jones Streets due to construction. IAS files contain related articles from the Sioux City Journal, the Des Moines Register, and Sioux City Magazine, dating from March 10, 1977 to May 1, 1978, which discuss controversy over the abstract nature sculpture.
