(Proper left side of base:) LITTLE FACE SO PURE - SO WHITE/THOUGH EARTH HIDE YOU FROM OUR SIGHT/WELL WE KNOW THAT SOME FAIR DAY/YOU WILL GREET US FAR AWAY!/GOD WILL KEEP YOU SWEET AND FAIR/AND WE LEAVE YOU IN HIS CARE. (Proper right side of base:) GOD PLUCKED THE BLOOMING FLOWER,/AND WHISPERED IT WAS GIVEN TO WIN YOUR HEARTS/WITH GENTLE POWER AND BEAR THEM HOME TO HEAVEN.
    Description: 
    A marble sculpture of a little girl seated on a stone and facing east. Her wavy shoulder length hair is pulled back and tied with a ribbon. She wears a short draped dress which has fallen off her proper left shoulder. Her proper left hand holds a spray of flowers in her lap, while her proper right hand holds flowers down by her side. Her head is tilted down. Her bare feet are crossed, with the proper right foot in front. The sculpture is attached to a circular plinth on a tiered marble base.
