Remarks:
One of 12 monuments in the park honoring New Jersey troops in the Gettysburg campaign. The monument marks the site where Col. Louis R. Francine was wounded on July 2, 1863, when the 7th New Jersey regiment was supporting Clark's New Jersey Battery. The monument (referred to as MN 173) is listed on the National Park Service List of Classified Structures and is referenced in the Gettysburg National Military Park Archives, vol. 18, 1975-1976.
