Remarks:
The memorial marks the burial site of Joseph Fowler, a native of Maryland who died at sea on Aug. 23, 1850. The lot, and the two adjoining lots, were purchased on Oct. 22, 1851 by Richard Petit for $407.00. Joseph Fowler was interred on Sept. 10, 1852.
