    Description: 
    Fountain consists of seven saucer-shaped disks placed on top of thin poles of varying heights which stand in a large concrete basin. Water bubbles up and cascades over the disks into the basin. The basin's walls are low to accommodate seating. Behind the fountain is a semi-circular ring of tall steel columns painted blue. These are connected along the top with a trellis covered with foliage.

    Remarks: 
    Conrad Dyar was a long-time city parks official. The original Conrad Dyar Fountain was remodelled and rebuilt in 1982 as part of a city beautification program. The saucer-like disks were salvaged from the original fountain and regrouped. Cost of the fountain was $2,600. The new fountain and columns had to be repainted two months after installation because paint was flaking off steel columns. The columns were sandblasted and acid-etched before paint was re-applied. IAS files contain copies of related articles from Port Angeles Daily News, June 17, 1982 and Aug. 2, 1982.
