Monument adorned with crossed bats, a base, a score book, and a scroll with "Excelsior" on it. Carved at each corner is a bat point down. Originally, a baseball topped the monument, but it is now missing.

James Creighton made his baseball debut in 1858 with the Brooklyn Niagaras. After a bidding war, he signed with the Brooklyn Excelsiors in 1860.
