Description:
A Neo-classical canopy with a heavy entablature, a cornice with dentil trim, and an inscribed frieze band set atop four doric columns resting on a three-tiered base. Placed under the canopy and atop the base is an urn-like drinking fountain.

Remarks:
Erected by Lettie Searles Cooley in memory of her husband, Lathrop Cooley, and as a means to "teach the double lesson of art and temperance." Lathrop Cooley, a minister of the Disciple Church, served in the eastern Ohio area. IAS files contain related articles from the Medina County Gazette, April 8, 1910, pg. 1; and Feb. 24, 1911.
