    Remarks:
The totem pole was donated by the artist as a token of his appreciation to the Town of Stamford and its Superintendent of Parks, Edward A. Connell. The artist's first job was working as a tree worker in the City's landscape forestry organization under Edward A. Connell. The artist's recognition of Mr. Connell is represented by the Irish shamrock on the bottom of the totem. The tree used for the totem pole was cut in Stamford. The completed totem pole was brought to the park by Hartford Electric Light Company trucks and was installed with the assistance of the Electric Company and the Stamford Parks Department.
