    Description: 
    Young man dressed in Colonial Era clothing, standing atop a rough-hewn granite base. Figure wears long-sleeved blouse, knee-length trousers, and holds tricorn hat in proper left hand. Stance is with bare feet spread wide apart, the proper right leg set forward and bent, the foot resting on higher ground; proper left leg is straight, weight-bearing, and the foot rests on lower ground. Man turns towards proper right, gazes ahead, holds a book in his proper right hand and props book aganist the bent proper right leg.
