(On front:) DEATH/is ever near! Near this spot, on Sunday 7, Sept. 1828 Mrs. Betsey, wife of Mr. James Browning was thrown from a carriage as she was returning from Publick(sic) Worship and instantly killed.
Description:
A rectangular slate marker bearing an inscription to Betsey Browning is installed on the spot where she was thrown from a wagon and killed in 1828.
