    Description: 
    Lunette-shaped bas-relief of a nude female figure. She kneels in proper left profile on her proper left leg. Her proper right knee is upright. Her torso is twisted to face the viewer and her head is turned to look back. She holds both of her hands at shoulder level. In each hand is a vessel with water flowing out and down into a stream beneath her. A single flower grows up behind her proper left foot.

    The plaque was commissioned by Albert Bender to pay tribute to Anne Millay Bremer (1868-1923), a painter, poet, and muralist from San Francisco. The memorial plaque was commissioned in the decade following her death and placed at the Emanu-El Sisterhood residence, later the San Francisco Zen Center. IAS files contain copy of related excerpt from Martin Snipper's "A Survey of Art Work in the City and County of San Francisco", San Francisco: Art Commission, 1953.
