Dimensions:  Sculpture: approx. H. 8 ft. x W. 20 ft. Inscription:  Captain John Brady was ambushed and killed by Indians near this spot while bringing supplied to the beleaguered Fort Brady. Description:  Metal memorial plaque for Captain John Brady set within stone exedra wall setting. Post 3428, 53 North Second Street, Hughesville, Pennsylvania Located Old Route 147, One mile north of Muncy Borough, Muncy Creek Township, Pennsylvania Remarks:  Captain John Brady came to the Muncy frontier in 1776. He worked as a surveyor. He fought in the French & Indian Wars in western Pennsylvania and turned his home into Fort Brady in Muncy. Tradition reports that he was ambushed and killed by Indians; however, research indicates he may have been a British sympathizer and met foul play from other local residents.
