Description:
A tall obelisk topped with an urn and adorned on the south side with a relief bust of a male in proper left profile and a symbols of the Free Masons. On the north side is a relief of a rose and an inscription. The obelisk rests on a square base of dark grey stone on top of a circular foundation resembling a grindstone.

Remarks:
The sculpture remembers Benton family members: Dr. Benton, M. D., who was born in 1788 and died in April of 1875; Abner Benton, M. D., who died in 1845 at the age of 58 years; and John Henry Benton, M. D., who was born in 1823 and died in 1885. A nearby highway sign reads: Caroline "Bonaparte" Benton, dau. of Joseph Bonapart, King of Spain, buried in Benton plot. Close by is the grave of Lebulon H. Benton (1811-1893), and his wife, Caroline C. B., who died December 25, 1890.
