Remarks:
The marker designates the spot where Aaron Belding was killed by Native Americans on July 23, 1748. The marker was provided by the state highway department after the previous one was destroyed when the state highway was built in 1941. IAS files contain a copy of the Massachusetts Historical Commission Form C - Monuments questionnaire dated May 1977.
