Digital Reference:  Medium:  Granite. Dimensions:  Approx. H. 16 ft. x Diam. 9 ft. Inscription:  ABERDEEN GRANITE WORKS, QUINCY MA (On front:) BELCHER/MEMORIAL/1909 unsigned Founder's mark appears. Description:  The fountain features a polished granite column topped with a gas light. Around the base of the column is a large basin for watering horses and two lower basins for dogs. Subject:  Homage -- Belcher Object Type:  Outdoor Sculpture -- Massachusetts -- Northfield Fountain Sculpture Owner:  Administered by Town of Northfield, Northfield Historical Commission, Main Street, Northfield, Massachusetts 01360 Located Main Street, Northfield, Massachusetts 01360 Remarks:  The fountain was a gift of the Misses Ann and Eliza Belcher. Originally the fountain was located at the intersection of Main Street and Warwick Avenue, but it was relocated to its current site in 1960. In 1973, the Village Improvement Society added the gas light for the town's tercentenary celebration.
