    A standing figure of a warrior in classical dress with spear and shield in proper left hand, his proper right arm outstretched. Reliefs of classical soldiers and women appear on the semicircular base.

    Formerly located Barrett Triangle, South of Staten Island Borough Hall, Staten Island, New York 1915-1945.
    Remarks: 
    Clarence Barrett was a prominent Staten Island landscape architect and civil engineer. This memorial was a gift of Mrs. Julia O. Hardin, Trustee of money left by Mrs. C. F. Barrett for the dedication of a fountain memorial to the late Major Clarence F. Barrett. Memorial cost 10,000 dollars. Sculpture was relocated in 1945 from a triangular park space south of Borough Hall to its present site. The base is frequently covered with graffiti such as marker, spray paint, chalk, and lipstick, but is repainted three times a year.
