Description:
This memorial is a structure with a gabled roof topped by a circular cross, and a decorative motif that includes acorns. The front of the memorial features an arch flanked by columns. The memorial is mounted on a low rectangular base. The piece marks the grave of Louisa M. Barker.

Remarks:
Louisa M. Barker (1808-1864) was a teacher at Clinton Liberal Institute. After Miss Barker's death, many of her former students gathered to raise funds for the memorial. Clara Barton, who had been taught by Barker, came to Clinton to assist with the fund raising.
