Remarks:
The Bacon Family marker was designed and commissioned by Henry Bacon. It was erected in 1919. Bacon's marker was reportedly designed after drawings found in his desk. IAS files include an excerpt from the Tony P. Wrenn's "Wilmington, North Carolina: An Architectural and Historical Portrait," Charlottesville: Univ. of Virginia Press, 1989.
