Occupation -- Other -- Businessman Abstract Object Type:  Outdoor Sculpture -- Florida -- Orlando Fountain Sculpture Owner:  Administered by City of Orlando, Orlando Public Art Program, 400 South Orange Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32801 Located Lake Eola Park, Rosland Avenue, in middle of Lake Eola, Orlando, Florida Remarks:  Fountain was originally named "Centennial Fountain" and was built by the Orland Utilities Commission in 1957, at the urging of the Orlando Chamber of Commerce. It was dedicated in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the city's settlement. In 1965 it was renamed the "Linton E. Allen Memorial Fountain" to honor one of Orlando's most prominent business and civic leaders. IAS files contain transcript of a nearby plaque.
