    Remarks:
Grave marker for Robert Thomas Aitchison (Dec. 5, 1887-May 4, 1964); his wife Mary Margaret (Cheshire) Aitchison (July 19, 1887-July 1, 1973) and Peter Cheshire Aitchison (Dec. 30, 1922-Dec. 11, 1965). Robert T. Atchison was an artist, scholar, bibliophile, cartographer and patron of the arts. For 40 years he was the artistic director of the McCormick-Armstrong Company, a leading printing firm in Wichita; and he served as treasurer of the Wichita Arts Association for 30 years. Aitchison was a great supporter of Bruce Moore as a young art student at the Wichita Art Association and later, commissioning several works from him. The Atchison memorial, commissioned by the artist's wife Mary, was designed by Moore and executed by a student. IAS files contain related newspaper clipping from The Wichita Eagle, April 13, 1999; transcript of names and dates engraved on marker; and additional biographical information on Robert Atchison.
