Remarks:
Verani designed the relief as her entry in the competition for the New Hampshire state bicentennial coin. Monument commemorates 99 men from Londonderry who fought in the American Revolution; granite base includes a shallow recess to hold future plaque bearing names of the 99. Sculpture was dedicated as part of town's celebration of Bicentennial Old Home Day, August 21, 1976. Cost of medallion was $520. IAS files contain related excerpt from: Ferne F. Schmidtcher, "History of Londonderry, 1900-1976," vol. 3, 1977, pg. 238-240; and photocopy of McGann Bronze invoice dated 7/28/76.
