    Remarks:
One of two known Klawak carvings of a dog. According to legend, the dog-eater spirit causes those under its influence to lose control over their actions. Only by eating the flesh of a dog, can the spirit be quieted and the victim return to his right mind. IAS files contain excerpt from Viola E. Garfield and Linn A. Forrest's: "The Wolf and the Raven," Seattle: Univ. of Washington Press, 1961, pgs. 141, 143, and 145.
Klawock Totem Pole Park contains twenty-one replicas made from the original totem poles of the Tlingit fishing village of Tuxekan. The poles were created in the 1930s through the Roosevelt Administration's CCC program.
