The sculpture rests in the Estonian Cultural Garden, designed by landscape architect Herk Visnapuu. The flame at the top of the sculpture is a symbol of hope for a brighter future. The inscription on the sculpture plaque is taken from the Estonian mythological epic "Kalevipoeg," and translates "But once again there will come a time...." The poem concludes "...when torches will burst into flames at both ends - then will Kalevipoeg come home again to bring happiness to Estonian people." Nearby sign reads: ESTONIAN CULTURAL GARDEN. IAS files contain an article about the dedication ceremony from the booklet, Cleveland Cultural Gardens, Cleveland Cultural Garden Federation, 1981, pg. 15.
