    Remarks:
Located on Morgan's Run near Gamber, Maryland, Klees Mill, is a grist mill built before the Civil War by a man named Beard. The mill passed through the Schalk and Edmondson families before it became the property of the Klees family, who renamed it. Itinerant Carroll County artist, Elmer Stubbins, the son of a man who ran a nearby paper mill, had a studio on the top floor of his father's mill, the window of which looked out on the Klees Mill. Stubbins painted his depiction of Klees Mill on a feed bag from the mill. The painting was formerly owned by the Beamers family who found the painting in the attic of a house they had bought from the Klees estate.
Unable to confirm current owner address, June 1989.
