    Remarks: 
    St. John Plantation was originally called Lizima in honor of Marie Lizina deClouet, the daughter of the builder of the original house, Alexander Etienne deClouet, for whom this work was painted. He lost the home in the 1880s when it, along with the painting, was sold to the Levert family. A member of the Levert family sold the painting to Mr. & Mrs. Frederick Nehrbass around 1940.
