Description:
A model of the front portion of the locomotive engine "Texas" flanked by two bas-relief murals. The mural to the left of the engine depicts Old Alabama Street, circa 1878, now underground Atlanta. The mural to the right of the engine depicts the train station.

Nearby text reads: This brick mural is a three-/fourths scale replica of the "Texas,"/a wood-burning locomotive built/in 1856 which played a major role in/the Great Locomotive Chase of the/Civil War. The restored Texas in on/display at the Cyclorama in Atlanta's/Grant Park. On a nearby informational marker: Pictures which are depicted in the murals (actual photos of Atlanta c. 1878) and a history of Old Alabama Street & the building of the viaducts in the 1920's which created "underground Atlanta." IAS files contain list of names of the brick mural team.
