    Remarks:
The sculpture is the central element of the Lourdian Shrine constructed at Lourdes Friary by a group of local men and boys in the early 1960s. The group of volunteers made the small lake and island on which the sculpture is located. On the western shore of the lake, a crucifix marks the entrance to the shrine and the beginning of the rosary. The sculpture was dedicated on October 8, 1961 during a blessing of the Lourdian Shrine. IAS files contain related dedication booklet, "Blessing of the Lourdian Shrines," Lourdes Retreat House, Cedar Lake, Indiana, Oct. 8, 1961.
