    Description: 
    At center, red-carpeted sairway leads under an arch with "Metropolitan" lettered above, "Art in America" vertically on the left and "American Art" vertically on the right. Inside the arch, appears a stage set representing the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Depicted are paintings, sculpture and figures, with a chandelier above. On the left side of the painting, The Museum of Modern Art is represented. In the foreground an elegantly dressed man stands at left and leans on a pedestal and an elegantly dressed woman stands at right under a canopy. At center, at the base of the staircase, a nude baby is on the ground while two photographers flash their cameras.
