Description:
Surrounding a printed calendar booklet are four depictions of the artist two younger brothers, Neil and Gordon Fairchild, painted in various poses during the four seasons of the year to come. The family dog, Tug Wilson, appears with the boys in each pose. Written across the top is "Calendar for 1897." In the upper left the boys are seen in the spring, dressed in caps and short pants walking forward, one carrying a cricket bat. In the upper right, the boys are seen the winter, dressed in hats and coats walking away, each holding a book under his arm. In the lower left, the boys are seen in the summer, dressed in swim suits at the beach. In the lower right, the boys are seen in the fall, dressed in school clothes.

Remarks:
The painting was formerly in the collection of Lucia Fairchild Fuller's daughter, Clara Taylor, until her death in 1982. The current owner, Lucia T. Miller, is the artist's granddaughter.
