    Description: 
    Penelope, or Rex the Dog, stands with head erect. Rex is small, with a thick, wavy coat of hair, a long snout, cropped ears and a bushy tail. The sculpture is mounted on top of a fountain base flanked by a tier on each side and a semi-circular basin at the bottom front.

    Remarks: 
    The fountain was installed by the citizens of Inglewood in memory of Penelope, known as Rex, a dog who faithfully followed the mail carrier on Route 15 in Inglewood every day for 13 years. The fountain was funded through public subscription.
