    Seated figure of a German Shepherd police dog. The dogs wears a harness with a badge on the belt. His mouth is open and his tongue is hanging out.

    Remarks: 
    Commissioned by the Anoka Police Federation in memory of King, the first police dog in Minnesota who served from 1967 to 1972. Other sponsors were the Anoka Lions Club, Jaycees and American Legion Post 102. This sculpture replaces a worn cement statue of King installed in the park previously. IAS files include the Anoka Police Annual Report, v. VI, Oct. 1988 which has photographs from the dedication ceremony.
