This piece is one of twelve statues along the cornice of the United States Customs House, each symbolizing an ancient or modern seafaring and commercial power. Inventory image files contain a photograph of all twelve sculptures and the photograph is filed with Karl Bitter's (Cartouche with Seal of the United States) IAS 87870013.
